AWARDEES of the Webb of Excellence Tertiary Support Scheme continue to chalk impressive results in their various fields of study.
The latest name to join the long list of honours after Juliet Annang (First Class) Nyemignor Korkor Okai (2nd Class, Upper) and Stella Akpanglo (First Class) is Naa Kuorkor Afutu, the 2021-2022 winner of the Tertiary Education Support Scheme, put in place by the Webb of Excellence Welfare Fund for the most brilliant female SHS 3 student of Ada Senior High School.
By dint of hard work, Naa Kuorkor successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree (2nd Class Upper) at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) on Friday, September 26, 2025.
With the degree now firmly in her bag, Naa Kuorkor eagerly looks forward to a two-year course at the Ghana School of Law for the professional law course and become a Barrister and Solicitor.
Reflecting on her performance at UPSA in a chat with our Reporter, Naa Kuorkor said: “Being awarded with a Second Class (Upper Division) fills me with profound gratitude and a sense of accomplishment. It stands as a testament not only to my hard work and perseverance but also the unwavering support I received especially from my family and Webb of Excellence throughout my academic journey.
“This milestone reflects not only the countless hours of study, but also the resilience I built through the moments of challenge and uncertainty. There were times when the journey seemed overwhelming, yet this achievement reminds me that prayer, faith, determination and discipline truly yield results.
“Moreover, this achievement motivates me to aspire to even greater heights and to embrace future challenges with confidence. It is both a personal victory and a stepping stone toward greater aspirations”.
Naa Kuorkor also expressed her profound gratitude to the Webb of Excellence Fund for their financial support over the four-year period.
“The support from Webb of Excellence made a difference in my academic journey. Beyond easing financial pressures, the scholarship instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and drive to excel.
“More importantly, it reminded me that a community believed in my potential, which I am reminded of during the most trying moments, pushing me to strive for excellence not just for myself, but also to honour the trust placed in me.
“I am truly thankful to Miss Eleanor Webb, the Founder of the Award and to the entire Webb of Excellence Management Team – Dr Gabriel Canacoo, Mr Emmanuel Amoako, Dr Edward Soga – and everyone who contributes to the scheme for the opportunity and for investing in my growth and success.
“It has taught me the importance of lifting others as we rise. As I step into the next chapter of my academic journey, I carry with me the values of excellence, hard work and service – the principles that Webb of Excellence so richly embodies”.
In appreciation of her impressive performance, the Webb of Excellence Welfare Fund presented a cheque of Ghc500 (Five Hundred Cedis) to Naa Afutu. The presentation was done by Dr Gabriel Ofoe Canacoo, the chairman of the Webb of Excellence Management Team.
