IT is not surprising that – Business – is one subject very dear to Miss Eleanor Louise Webb, founder of the Webb of Excellence Awards for brilliant-but-needy female students of the Ada Senior High School.
Fact is that Miss Webb, who was a CUSO (Canadian University Services Overseas) volunteer, did not only teach business subjects at the then Ada Secondary School between 1968 and 1970, but, more importantly, she played a pioneering role in the establishment of the Business Department of the school.
No wonder, in addition to the scholarship scheme, the Webb of Excellence Welfare Fund also has an annual ‘BUSINESS AWARDS’ which is presented to the best Business students in each Form every year.
To climax the school’s 60th anniversary celebrations, which was fell in November 2021, a special Speech and Prize-Giving Day was held and the three proud winners were presented with the Webb of Excellence Business Awards. They were: Catherine Agbasi of the Form 3 Business Class, Rachel Borkai Borketey of the Form 2 Business Class and Kingsford Kwaku Quarshie of the Form 1 Business Class.
Each award winner was presented with a special Business-related book prize donated by the Webb of Excellence Welfare Fund.
